Glasgow Belongs To Us!

On Saturday 26th November 2022 Glasgow Against Closures held a summit.

It was great to attend the first conference arranged by Glasgow Against Closures to discuss how communities can organise themselves to save some of our many venues still "not closed, but not open", what is the reasons behind the closures and the importance these venues have to the wellbeing of the people of Glasgow.

It was a very thought-provoking event with great sessions by Dr Elspeth King, previous curator of the People's Palace, on how Glasgow life continue to mishandle the pieces of Glasgow's art and history. How the collections of Burrell have taken precedence over the preservation of the stories of the working class of Glasgow, Burrell is not Glasgow.
