On 22nd October I had the honour of attending and presenting awards at the inaugural Proudly Black and Scottish Awards and Gala Dinner.
This great event was held at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow acknowledging the extraordinary achievements of Black Scots. This was the first time this ceremony has been held and an opportunity for the community to celebrate truly black excellence.
I had the privilege of presenting the award for the Community Star of the Year to Racheal Olayinka, Business of the year to Afro Fusion Cuisine (photo to the left), and Best Book/Author of the Year to Brown Girl in the Ring: Memoirs- of a Brown Girl Living in Scotland by Olukemi Ogunyemi (photo below).
I would like to thank everyone who worked hard to deliver such a wonderful event and to all the winners and nominees. It was an incredible evening to be a part of. Thank you.
