On Friday I joined Social Enterprise Scotland and Big Society Capital in a visit to Glasgow Eco Trust at the Heart of Scotstoun Community Centre.
Big Society Capital offer social investments to social enterprises and charities, after meeting them at the UK Labour Party conference I have been interested in finding out more and how they could help organisations in Glasgow.
Glasgow Eco Trust have previous received a loan from Big Society Capital and it was great to hear about their experience and how it helped them.
Big Society Capital was founded after the UK Government came into a large sum of money from dormant bank accounts closed. In Scotland the funds are looked after by Social Investment Scotland and supported by Social Enterprise Scotland.
